The keyboard offers two types of musical interaction: inserting or extracting modules allows to combine musical loops, activating or silencing the parts of an arrangement; percussion lets you play melodies, rhythms and compose chords like a traditional musical instrument.

The magnetic shapes can be stacked like a totem and used as a tangible score, in which the order of the figures determines the playlist of musical loops.

Kibo features an eight-voice polyphonic keyboard with dynamic response. The high-sensitivity keys perceive the lightest and most vigorous pressures, expressing all musical colors, from “pianissimo” to “fortissimo”.

By attributing a musical meaning to the forms, an alternative notation system is implicitly introduced, allowing to define a series of actions to be performed, freeing from music theory and facilitating the use of the instrument for users with special needs, children and people without musical skills.

The keyboard layout sets up two main patterns for building all fundamental chords, regardless of the scale. The example refers to the C major scale and shows some of the chords that can be obtained by translating or reversing the "L" and "V" patterns.
